Originally from Buffalo, NY, Jeanne graduated from the State
College with a B.S. degree in Art Education, moving to Boston
shortly after. She taught art in New York and Massachusetts
public schools. After attending Mass Collegeof Art and The
Boston Museum School she became a member of Kaji Aso
Studio. There she teaches ceramics, pastel drawing, and leads a Renga class (haiku poetry).
In ceramics, Jeanne works mainly in cone 6 stoneware using electric kilns. Her work is figurative, pottery, and sculptural forms. Jeanne's Tea Bowls, used in Japanese Tea Ceremony at The Studio, are also for sale. She teaches special workshops in handbuilding techniques and Raku.
Exhibitions include: Italy (Siena, Padua, Venice); Japan
(Sinjuku, Tokyo); UK, London ; colleges and galleries in New
York and Massachusetts.
Currently she exhibits her work at Gallery Nature & Temptation
and serves as Trustee, Ceramic Chair and Instructor at Kaji Aso
Studio Institute for the Arts (www.kajiasostudio.com).
She is also on the faculties of
Newton Community Education (www.newtoncommunityed.org) and Arsenal Center for the Arts in Watertown.
